Frequently Asked Questions

Other delivery options are available on the postage options page.

Q1

What is your postal address for shipping my chip or board to you ?.

Answer: Our shipping address is in the contact section of the web site here. http://www.bios-repair.co.uk/contact.htm

Q2 How do I pay for my item ?.

Answer: We only accept Payments from international buyers via Paypal. Paypal also process any credit card payments made through our web site.

UK customers can also pay by Postal order or personal cheque. We do not accept Foreign checks or Postal orders we simply cannot cash them.

Q3

Postage: I have not received my item what happens now ?.

Please allow at least 7 days for delivery. We post most things by first class Royal mail postage, unless requested to do otherwise.

We keep the Certificates of posting in case our customers need to make a claim from royal mail for any lost or missing item.

Other delivery options are available, if you live outside of the EEC Standard Royal Mail Delivery doesn't cover you if your item goes missing in the post.

If you use the standard royal mail delivery option then any replacement for a lost item will have to be paid for again before a replacement can be sent out to you. You can then lodge a claim with royal mail for the missing item

Q4

When will you ship my item ?.

Answer: Items are normally shipped same day or next morning, however saying that weekends can disrupt the posting a little.
Orders placed after Friday night will be shipped either Saturday morning if possible or first thing on the following Monday morning.

Q5

What happens if my board doesn't work when the new chip is fitted.

Answer: If you send both your chips back to me I will verify with you that we have the correct BIOS codes for your board. Our first step is to program the two EEPROM with earlier BIOS codes.
If you still have a no boot situation with an earlier BIOS code and we are using the correct code, then its highly likely that your board, CPU or other hardware has a problem.

Q6

If i buy a blank chip, will it work in my board ?.
Answer: No, the chip needs to be programmed. A blank chip does not contain the needed code to start your motherboard.

Q7

I would like a mutual link on your web site how do i go about this.

Answer: Firstly you need to add our Hyper link and our link text to your links page. See out Links page for the information you need.

Once you have added the link email us the address of your homepage and we will take a look.

Only relevant or related content sites will be considered, and to be considered you must have a links page which is accessible from the main web site area.

Reasons for our Hard Stand

We used to offer immediate replacements for lost or missing items. However, the service has been abused by some customers who simply do not send back the second or in some cases third and fourth lot of parts or do not even communicate to help with their claims for the missing items. As a consequence we have had to take a hard line to the detriment of all our customers

All missing items must be claimed for or paid for again before we will send out a replacement for any lost or missing parts
