Pre Flashed Asus BIOS Chips-EEPROM
Preflashed Asus BIOS Chips or preflashed EEPROM are available for most Asus mainboards. Asus like other mainstream makers are shifting towards SPI Serial Flash EEPROM. We keep good range of SPI Serial Flash EEPROM in stock in both PDIP and SOIC packages.
If you need a replacement flash BIOS chip or CMOS part for an Asus motherboard, you can buy using the buttons below. If your Motherboard isn't in the list Email us the details and we can prepare one for you, and also add it to the list.
Asus CMOS Reference
Asus provide excellent support for their products in most cases. We are able to provide a programmed BIOS chip for most Asus Retail Mainboards, Desktops and laptops. Some Asus OEM BIOS are available here also.
SPI Serial Flash BIOS Chip
We also offer an SPI Header programming service for new Asus motherboards that have a soldered SPI Serial flash EEPROM and an SPI header. We also keep PDIP SPI Serial Flash EEPROM in stock up to 2MB or 16Mb in size (SOIC up to 4MB or 32Mb in size).
SPI Programming Headers
Mainboards fitted with an SPI header and soldered EEPROM can be sent to us for reprogramming.
If you live outside the UK then the cheapest option is to buy a programmed part and replace it yourself
Asus BIOS Chip Replacement
Asus used to fit sockets to almost every board however new batches of boards are being produced with soldered eeprom. Boards marked as having an SPI header can be sent to us for programming, or you can buy a replacement EEPROM .
The buttons below are for a replacement EEPROM. If you need to send in a board with an SPI header for programming please contact us in the first instance, although the cost for reprogramming these boards is the same as a replacement EEPROM.
If you live outside the UK and have a board with an SPI Programming header, the cheapest repair option may be to buy a programmed replacement EEPROM or BIOS chip and fit it yourself. However you are very welcome to send in the board if you wish.

Mac Address IssuesSome of the P5K Series Boards have issues with their MAC address after restoring or supplying an updated EEPROM. It would appear that the mac address is stored in the cmos part. A MAC address change utility has to be used to restore the original MAC address for the onboard network card. The original MAC address is usually located somewhere on the motherboard. Failing that you can probably use the mac address of any old network card as they are all supposed to be quite unique |
