Motherboard CMOS

Have you ever needed to establish the EEPROM or CMOS type for a motherboard. Have spent many hours on occasions trying to establish which EEPROM was needed for a particular motherboard, and sometimes without any success.

The information contained within this reference section was originally intended for my own reference, have decided to make the pages available for others. When needed the information can save a few headaches, and if it does this then the pages have served their purpose.

Send in your motherboard details and BIOS chip part number and make, and we will add it the collection here. if you have a photo to that we can use of your board we can add that too

Replacement Flash BIOS chips

Replacement EEPROM's or Flash BIOS chips, are available for most of the boards within this reference section, and many more also.
If your board is not listed and you need a replacement BIOS then please E-mail your motherboard details and BIOS chip part number for immediate attention. The details will be added to the relevant pages within this section.

We do have a few problems with some OEM makers the relevant pages are marked, they simply do not release their BIOS codes in a useable format.

BIOS Chips and EEPROM's

There are instances where another makers part will be used instead of the parts mentioned in these pages.

There are a few good reasons why another part may be used. One such example is the new Revision CA of the SST chip 49LF004B 33-4C-NH revision C. This particular chip cannot be replaced with its modern lead free counterpart i.e. the 49LF004B 33-4C-NHE Revision CA, Another chip i.e. SST 49LF040B has to be used as a replacement in most cases.
SST changed the die and also the characteristics of the chip and therefore the new revision CA is simply not totally compatible with the old revision C.

Older parts are getting harder to find now and are being replaced with their modern lead free equivalents, which sometimes means a different chip must be used.

Additions

If you wish to make a contribution to this Motherboard CMOS Reference section then please feel free to do so. Just E-mail me your motherboard make, model, revision number and EEPROM type and it will be added to the collection here.
